College Profile

Chongqing Youth Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1954. Its predecessor was Chongqing Youth League School. In 1987, Chongqing Youth Management Cadre College was established. In 2006, it was transformed into a general higher vocational college. It was organized by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government with approval of Ministry of Education. Administered by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, it is a full-time public college for national enrollment. The college adheres to the motto of "Being ethical, desiring for knowledge, seeking truth and strengthening skills " on the basis of "putting people first and doing pioneering work”. It also fosters the ambience of entrepreneurship of "self-reliance and hard work", with a focus on "being conscientious and being second to none". The pursuit of value is based on producing talents with morality, serving development as the purpose, promoting students’ employment as the guide, and aiming to create high-quality vocational colleges in Chongqing. The college emphasizes practical improvement including talent quality to serve economic and social development, and strive to promote the college to improve its quality, highlight its characteristics, and expand its influence.

The college has two campuses, Beibei and Banan. The Beibei campus is located in Xiema Development Park, Chongqing High-tech Zone, and the Banan campus is located in Chongqing Higher Vocational City. The college’s existing school building area is more than 200,000 square meters, with 59 on-campus practice and training rooms, 63 off-campus practice bases and industry-university bases, library collections of more than 400,000 books; more than 10,000 students, more than 500 faculty and staff, among them, there are 126 teachers with senior professional titles, more than 200 teachers with "dual teacher" type, 2 model teachers and educators in Chongqing, and 2 outstanding young and middle-aged backbone teachers in Chongqing. There are School of Economics and Management, School of Preschool Education, School of Health and Medicine, a total of 29 majors are enrolled with secondary teaching units such as the School of Automobile and Aviation, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Marxism, and the School of General Education.

The college always adheres to the party’s education policy, implements the fundamental task of cultivating moral education of people, building a full-staff, full-process, and all-round "three-dimensional" education work system, focusing on building a platform for the cultivation of students' craftsmanship spirit of persistence, focus, rigorous work style, excellence, dedication and trustworthiness, and innovation. Actively expand the platform for student growth and development. There are 24 student activity organizations and clubs such as the Youth Volunteer Association, Citizen School Service Team, Science and Technology Innovation Center, University Student Art Troupe, etc. The club activities are blooming, the group activities are splendid, and the education effect is obvious. In recent years, it has organized students to participate in 1,854 city-level and above competitions, 136 national-level competitions, and won 182 honors or awards at the provincial (municipal) level and above. The employment rate of graduates has always remained above 95%, and the professional counterpart rate has been maintained more than 80%. It has trained a group of outstanding students such as winners of the "Chongqing Youth May 4th Medal", "Chongqing Outstanding Volunteers", "Representatives of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Youth League" and "National Excellent Communist Youth League Members".

The college has always adhered to the road of integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation. It has established in-depth cooperative relations with more than 10 well-known domestic and foreign companies such as BOE; it has cooperated with China Airlines, Hualong.com and other well-known companies in and outside the city to jointly build the Aviation Academy, Second-level enterprise (industry) colleges such as school of Hualong Network and Medical College have greatly improved the quality of talent training, and effectively promoted local economic and social development.
